The Unity Parent Association, (PA), is an integral part of the Unity commUNITY and represents a healthy mix of students, staff, teachers, board members, parents and alumni. Together, in our monthly meetings and smaller, informal sub-groups, we plan and coordinate school social events, classroom activities, small fundraising events, large fundraising events, mission-related assemblies and community service projects, to name a few. Since Unity is a small commUNITY, active involvement among all families is essential.
As the communication-hub of the school, the Unity PA is charged with:
- providing in-class support to all 6 Learning Groups and their teachers,
- generating excitement and school pride and to encouraging active involvement and
“ownership-of” our school, throughout the Unity commUNITY, and - to supporting- & collaborating-with Unity Learning Environments, (ULE), on mission-driven public events in order to generate publicity, partnerships and funding for Unity Charter School’s outstanding curriculum on the principles & practices of sustainability.
One of our main goals in the PA is to reflect Unity's mission of teaching the principles and practices of sustainability education in all that we do.
